Photography Lecture: Joanna B Pinneo, Internationally acclaimed National Geographic photographer
Topics include: becoming a National Geographic photographer, some of the challenges and expectations, nuts and bolts of assignments, telling the story, and some hair raising experiences.
Joanna will talk about her experiences working for National Geographic Magazine, sharing behind the scenes stories about favorite images, and the people she met along the way. While traveling across the Sahara in a camel caravan, in the arctic looking for polar bears, and visiting a nomadic clan near Timbuktu; Joanna met extraordinary people that welcomed her into their lives. In her 36 year career as a photojournalist Joanna has worked in 66 countries covering stories on European Immigration, Climate Change and the Canadian Arctic among others.
